The Gaurishankar conservation area is situated just below the Gaurishankar mountain, jugal himal range and is spread in area of 2179 sq km. Gaurishankar conservation area lies in Ramechhap, DolakhaSindhupalchwok district, encompasses 22 villages. Wild animals in this park include the Himalayan black bear, red panda, snow leopard, musk deer, rhesus macaw and blue sheep. Gaurishankar conservation project protected area in the Himalayas established in January 2010. It is rich in bio-diversity. A total of 16 varieties of vegetation have been identified in the area. 34 species of mammals, 14 snake species, 16 species of fish, 10 types of amphibians and 8 lizard and 235 species of birds have been recorded.
